Update on Thanael

Well, things have kind of slowed down here so I thought I'd update everyone on what's been happening in the past 2 weeks. (I'm going to leave little details out because frankly this is already going to be really long....)

As most of you know, Nate tore his right Achilles tendon 2 weeks ago today(a Sunday). It was very random and sudden! He was pushing off to run and he said it felt like someone ran into the back of his heel. I mean he actually looked behind him.....and then fell to the ground in pain! So bright and early Monday morning, I'm talking we were at the 1st hospital at 7:30am, we were trying to get in to see a Sports Medicine doctor. The 1st hospital we went to didn't have a walk-in sports medicine clinic so we were off to another. We got into the second place, filled out paper work.....and waited! The doctor we got saw first basically told us, yeah, it was torn. He was very honest and said because he focuses more on knees and shoulders, he wanted Nate to see the doctor who focuses more on feet. So we waited till 11:30 and had another appointment where the doctor said the same thing. However, he gave gave a very detailed outline about the recovery and rehab, which in all honesty is what Nate's more concerned about! They fit him for a "boot" which he has been wearing ever since....well except to sleep in. So the surgery was all lined up for this past Monday however, after talking with his track coach, they decided to talk with 1 more doctor. (this doctor and his physical therapists have dealt with the track team before) Oh, we did go to see one more doctor the next day, but it wasn't a sports medicine clinic and he was really more of just a number he was NOT feeling it there! Well, out of all the visits, Nate did say he liked the 3rd guy the best, which if someones going to be cutting into your foot, I think that's pretty important! So surgery was rescheduled for the past Friday evening.
Basically, he couldn't eat or drink all day and his surgery wasn't scheduled till 6pm!! (Don't worry, he survived!) His parents came Friday and they picked him up for work because he had to be at the hospital at 4pm.  It was an out-patient surgery, but he was put completely under. I decided since they probably wouldn't be home till after 9pm, what with having to go fill all his meds, that I would make chili so dinner would at least be taken care of. He wasn't TOO loopy when he got home, even though I WAS hoping for a little more entertainment, and he really is doing ok. Last night he said right before bed he almost had to take "some of the good stuff" for the pain, but fought through. During the day he has a "watercast" on, where the cold water has to be changed every 20 minutes, kind of like icing, to keep swelling down, and he wears the boot on top of that. That 20 minute alarm comes pretty fast each time!! At night he's just in the boot. He's already started with some movement. Legs raises, toe wiggles, etc. every hour. The real physical therapy starts Tuesday I do believe.....after a doctor visit. Stitches come out December 2nd. He should be driving again before Christmas.
So all in all, he's doing alright. Recovery wise he will be out of track this season. It will take about 9-12 months before he'll be able to run on it again. We'll be focusing on the little goals for a while.
Thanks for everyone's support!! We're so blessed to have family and friends who care as much as you guys do! Anyway, if you're looking for me in the next couple days, I'll be at Nate's......changing the cold water every 20 minutes!!! :)

Very much looking forward to coming home for Thanksgiving!!!!! :) :) :)

Proper Elevator Etiquette

Sooooooo........on top of the ever annoying "blocking the intersection" pet peeve of mine, I also am becoming more and more irked with people's lack of courtesy in terms of elevators! It often reminds me of when I was coaching at Auburn and the girls would always load the bus for away games from the front to the back. SERIOUSLY?!?!? So it's like this: If someone (me) is on an elevator and the doors open, let someone (me) get off before you try to get on!!!! In a place of so called professional adults, you'd think this would even be an issue. But no...it is....everyday! Just a few ideas as to how we could fix this:
1. Take your eyes off your Blackberry to see if in fact someone is on the elevator.
2. Don't stand with your nose practically touching the door waiting on said elevator.
3. Put in to practice the 3 second rule....don't even start the forward motion until you can count to 3!
4.  Pick a side....if you going to stand right in front of the doors, there's going to be a long stand off....I'm not gettin off and you sure as hell ain't gettin on!

I would like to give everyone I meet the benefit of the doubt and think some where along the way their mom taught them the meaning of "common courtesy", but to tell you the truth, I'm starting to doubt that. And it seriously surprises me that every time those elevator doors open and I'm standing there, that it's a HUGE surprise to the inconsiderate child standing on the other side....like it's Halloween and I'm the monster in the Haunted House! People, I'm not hiding...I'm standing smack down in the middle of the elevator where you can't help but see me! I mean in a place of business the size of Eli Lilly (I'm talking thousands!) the odds are really against the person waiting on the elevator that there IS NOT going to be someone getting off! After 6 months of working there too you might think I would get use to running into people when I have the "right away", but obviously I'm not. In the grand scheme of things, I know this all comes back to America getting lazier and lazier! Please, next time you use an elevator, think about my tips for proper elevator etiquette!!!!!

Very Pleased!

For anyway who I haven't already forced to look at these.....here's the entire album of Nate and I's Engagement session:

We'll try to figure out which ones to order after we've talked to family over Thanksgiving!!! :) :) :)

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

Today is my Grandpa McCulley's birthday. For the past 3 years Maris and I would always take something over to my Grandma's, just to let her know we're always thinking about Grandpa. And this year, even though I'm 3 hours away, is no different! Happy Birthday, Grandpa! Heaven doesn't know how lucky it is!!!! :) :) :)

Recap

I've been told I haven't been updating this enough.....(Jessica).....so while I'm sitting here at Nate's with Internet I thought I'd update you guys about my week. (I'm warning you all, this may be boring!)

What has happened......well it's a new month! Happy November! With this new month brings 4 family birthdays and the single biggest food day of the year, Turkey Day!! Can't wait to see the fam....I kind of wish there was another big holiday during the year. Thanksgiving and Christmas are just too close together and then nothing the rest of the year. Everyone should start having big family dinners just because! I also have mixed feelings about Christmas "break". So, we get 2 weeks off at Lilly. Well, actually Lilly gives everyone 1 week off, but I guess no one really works the week before Christmas either, which means if no Lilly people are there to work, there's no work for me! So we're forced to take 2 weeks off.....with no pay! Another lady I work with was there last year when they complained about it but I guess it got them nowhere. But, since I don't get any sick days or vacation days either, this 2 week break is going to be very nice.......well, I guess you can understand my mixed feelings!! Moral of the story: Everyone's getting pictures of Quincey for Christmas!!!!!!!!! ;)

Nate and I were pretty lazy this weekend, mainly to save money. Slept in Saturday morning, football during the day, I did talk him into going to the mall to get part of Maris's birthday gift, and then back for more football and video games. Today he was like "Yesterday was great, wasn't it!?!" *sigh* Yeah, for the 1 hour you peeled your eyes away from the TV! ha ha ha (Trust me....I DO know what I'm getting myself in to!) Got to sleep in a little bit this morning too thanks to Mr. Daylight Savings!  Nate's Flag Football team was in the Championship game today at 1:00, so Quincey and I got semi-bundled up and headed out the cheer him on. My man definitely got MVP for the 1st half! (2 touchdowns and an interception).......and then during the very last play of the game, of course, he gets hurt! He'll be fine but it's his ankle/Achilles, tomorrow he's heading to the doctor, obviously, since he needs his foot to RUN!!! So we're here icing, resting, icing, resting.......you know the drill. (And they lost by 5 points!)

At this point I'd like to say that I hate stupid drivers!!! It seems like Indy's just full of them. Every other day there's an accident on my way to work, on my way home.....and on top top of that, what I hate more than anything and what I think should be made illegal is people blocking intersections!!!!!!! It's my all time biggest pet peeve!!!!!!!!! Like the other day......I was sitting at a stop light downtown trying to turn left......not 1 but 2 cars just sitting right in front of me. I was on the phone with Nate and was pissed! I would look up at the light and then look back at the stupid woman. At one point she actually shrugged her shoulders at me like it wasn't her fault!!! I about lost it. It IS your fault. I'm halfway tempted to look up the rules of the road anyway just to see what they say about blocking intersections. I know at some places they have signs that say "DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTION". I feel like the intersection is like no man's land, so if you're there I have to right to ram your car if I have the green light!! From now on, I think I'll just get as close as possible to any car in my way!!! "I'm sorry officer, but I had a green light!"

Quincey wanted me to say "Hello" to everyone....and now he wants to go out......again!

More Pictures!

What a great way to start this cold Tuesday......Engagement blog is up!!!!

   http://blog.ex-ps.com/e%e2%80%a2sessions/e-blythe-nathan/

And my friends, this isn't even all of them yet!! I don't know if they will have a link to ALL of them (I don't think so), but I'll get them to you as soon as we get a hold of them!!!

Halloween was a bust this year! I have yet to experience a really good Trick-or-Treater year. We dressed up last minute Saturday and went out with Shane and Jacqueline to a house party of one of their friends.

Shane and Jacqueline were the 2 pitchers from the Giants. I don't really know what Nate and I were.....I already had my wig from a couple years ago and I ended up at Walmart to buy Nate's fro and the T-shirts. I guess he was Kool-Aid man. I just wanted to wear a wig!!! We're thinking about wearing them out for fun one night......well I am!

Haven't decided if I'm coming home next weekend for Maris's birthday or not. She has infomed me she might not be home anyway. So, if not then....I WILL be home for Thanksgiving to stuff my face with turkey!! Hopefully have the rest of the Engagement pictures by then!!

Sneak Peek

Oh folks.....words can not express how excited I am right now!! It was hard to even focus at work this week.....The engagement session Sunday was....AWESOME!!! Background info: So, Nate and I went home last weekend. Well, I got an e-mail from our photographer, Rachel, Saturday night saying the weather for Sunday afternoon wasn't looking good. Originally we had planned for 3:45 in Peoria at her grandparents farm, but decided to push it up to 2:30. She also said we should be in touch in case we'd have to cancel because of rain. With Nate and I living out of town, this would be a huge problem obviously! It's not like we can make the trip home every weekend and it's starting to get cold out! So, Saturday morning I got up and checked my e-mail again and sure enough Rachel had e-mailed me again. (I'm sweating at this point!) She said the radar looked like rain was more likely later in the afternoon/evening, so she thought 2:30 would be good, but there was still that CHANCE we wouldn't be able to get it in. *sigh* Well, there wasn't really anything we could do about the weather, so Nate and I started the trip up to Peoria around noon (after a quick stop at the Crowne Plaza where my uncle, Colin, was setting up for an event. He wanted us to look at the colors they were using bc he thought we might like them for our wedding, since he'll be doing the setting up for it!!) The drive to Peoria was....dark. The further the drove north, the darker the skys were getting. We got to the farm a little after 2:00 and it had started to clear up a little. After we met Rachel's mom, their baby daughter, and their dog, again, we headed outside to fit in what we could. We start with the "pictures that didn't matter".....ones with us getting "warmed up". After that...it was kind of a free-for-all! I don't want to spoil the pictures to come with lots of details, but I will say they totally understood our idea of the outdoor/camping kind of theme we were going for!! What they said would take an hour ended up taking 2, which didn't feel like it at all! It just felt like a Sunday afternoon with friends! And wouldn't you know it, it turned out to be the most perfect day! Overcast skys, which are great for pictures, at times and then the sun would come through for a little bit to say hello!

Here's our "sneak-peek" picture they posted on their blog!! They showed us a few they took that day just on the camera screen and we were blown away!! I can't wait to show you guys all of them...hopefully just a few weeks and then they'll be done editing all of them!! TRUST ME....YOU'LL KNOW ASAP!!! :)

So needless to say, I was a giddy mess the whole way back to Indy, just ask Nate! We had so much fun doing these last minute pictures.....can't imagine what the wedding will be like!!! ;)

Engagement Pictures on again

Wow...thought I'd have more time to blog! Guess it's kind of hard when you don't have Internet at your place.....

But first thing is first.....WEDDING DRESS HAS BEEN PURCHASED!!!! Last weekend mom and Chaela came up and we got to mark 1 more thing off our "Wedding To-Do List"! Let me tell you though, not an easy decision. The first store we went too, I found 2 that we all fell in love with! Seriously, could not decide. So, my lady says, "Why don't you go get some lunch and think about it". So, after a much needed lunch at Chik-fil-A, we made one more stop at the other appointment we had for the day. But the dresses and the service didn't really compare to the first store we had visited. So......off we went, back to the first store, still not knowing which dress I wanted. I got back in both of them and then.......nothing! My mom couldn't even decided. At one point I jokingly said we should just flip a coin, because that's how beautiful they both were. Thank the lord, they were going to be open on Sunday.....so we made an appointment at 1:00, right when the store opened. I think the thing I will remember most about this whole dress shopping experience, was laying in bed Sunday with my mom weighing the 'pros' and 'cons' to each dress. I left my apartment that morning knowing (well, 98% sure) which dress I was going to pick. We got there a little early and saw some people already standing outside the store, so we followed. As we stood there mom asked me again which one. I couldn't do it, I wanted both! Knowing that was NOT an option, I stood there quietly for a few moments. Then in a pure second, I did the most crazy thing I could have done.....I got a penny from my purse and gave it to Chaela. "We aren't really doing this?!?" Chaela, flipped it and let it fall to the ground. Tails. Ha ha ha....Silly girl, we didn't say which side went with which dress!! So, Dress 1 is heads, Dress 2 is tails. And she flips it again. Tails...again! I am a firm believer in "Everything happens for a reason" and with that penny landing tails 2 times in a row, I couldn't be more sure about the dress we were about to purchase. The lady was going to let me try them both on one more time, but I chose to only put on the one I ultimately decided on. (Why ruin it!?!) So my friends......moral of the story: My sister flipped a coin to choose my dress!

Well, with that big purchase out of the way, I was free to stalk wedding blogs the rest of last week. Of course that was a bad idea! I came across this camping themed engagement session and FELL IN LOVE! (Nate and I both love camping and the outdoors!) So I e-mailed him the link, we chatted about it, and he finally agreed to MORE PICTURES! I e-mailed our photographer about it to see if we could add the engagement session back into our package. We orginally said we weren't going to do the pictures, even though they told us it was a great way for them to learn about us and for us to get comfortable with the camera. They are actually from Peoria, but living in Springfield now, however they are going to be up there the next few weekends. She told us the engagement session would be no problem and would we want to come up this weekend to her grandparents farm. So, even though it's kind of quick, we're taking our engagement pictures this weekend! Can't wait to see how they turn out and to show you guys!!! And Nate and I went shopping yesterday to find our "camping" outfits. After trying mine on last night, I just want this week to get over!!!! (Plus, Nate looks cute in flannel!) :)

Back tracking a bit, Saturday Nate and I headed to Nashville, IN for the day. We've gone for the past couple years, although Nate had gone with his family years before that. It's the cutest fall shopping town ever! We went again in December last year, and even though it's cute with all the snow, nothing compares to the town in the fall! Of course we picked the nicest day to go and it was packed! We always get a few candles (Warm Glow...look them up...amazing!). This year we got some carmel corn and tried a new place for lunch. Stopped at Brown County winery on the way back. There's a couple pumpkin patches on the way, but decided not to stop this year, as we had to get back for the Ohio State football game! We said we'd get pumpkins this week and carve them, while watching scary movies building up to Halloween! Think I'll get Q one this year, too!

That's about it here in Indy. Nate and I will be home this weekend, but will probably have to leave kind of early on Sunday so we can get to Peoria for the pictures and still get home at an early hour. I can't wait. I bought the cutest boots!!!!! Until then.......

The most important things in life aren't things

 Ok kids...sorry it's been over a week. Here's what's been happin:

Dress Shopping with Alli and Court last Thursday so much fun!! We picked about 8 to try on. We weren't super impressed by the store, but did like 1 dress especially. Even though A & C loved just about every one I came out in, I knew I would get an honest opinion out of them. Then he headed to dinner for Courtney's 27th b-day! It's the first time since I've been in Indy that just the 3 of us could get together and it was just like old times!! Thank you ladies!! :)

Last weekend Nate and I just hung about the apartments. A LOT of football happened!!! I finally got him to leave the apartment for a little bit on Saturday...I just couldn't do it anymore. Sunday Nate had a flag football game and the weather was perfect for jeans and a sweatshirt...and a Pumpkin Cappuccino from the gas station. Should have taken Quincey out with me. Next time I will for sure!

My cousin, Tyler, is home on leave from Afghanistan for 2 weeks. My aunt Marlene sent some pictures of them at the airport picking him up and the family had dinner Wednesday night with him. I got a nice picture from Maris of everyone and Tyler was smiling so I know it was a good night! Just wish I could have been home.....next time.

Jacqueline and I are still going strong on our workouts. We even up'ed some reps this past week, so we know we're getting stronger! Monday we're starting a "Couch to 5k" workout. But since we're not starting from the "couch", we're skipping to week 4. We'll be running 3 miles in no time! However, we will be adding another workout day which we probably need, but finding the time is the hard part.

Probably the biggest news of the week happened last night. Had to take Quincey to the Emergency Vet. Last week I noticed a lump on his neck. Kind of didn't think much about it...probably matted hair. Well, got home last night to take him on his walk and I noticed the area was more matted and was kind of bloody. Welp, I freaked out and called Nate. No answer of course because he was suppose to be working out. I knew where the vet was because we drive past it on the way to Shane and Jacqueline's and they've had to take their dogs there before. So I grabbed vet records and jumped in the car. Nate called back and said he was late leaving work and had just got to his apartment, so he'd meet me over there. Got checked in and in a room....blah blah blah. (Oh Q weighs 13.6 lbs now.....) So basically what they would have to do to get a better look was shave the hair around the area that was infected. AND because, you all know Quincey, and he can be a bit rowdy, they would need to give him a shot to calm him down too. So I signed the paper work...."Do you want us to use CPR if anything should happen?" she asks.....Wait, what?!?!? I was mad at him this morning because he got into the bathroom garbage and now you using the word 'CPR'?!?? Well, I love him so I signed his life away. They took him out of the room do their thing and when the Dr. came back in she said the has a 'hot spot'. You can google it if you want, but basically it's an open sore. When they brought him back he was so drugged up he was asleep in Nate's lap in .3 seconds. So, 2 medications, 1 powder, and 1 vet bill later....Quincey is fine!! It was a little scary bringing home though. When we got out to our cars we thought maybe we should let him use the bathroom, so Nate let him down like a foot from this tree.....oh my gosh, he was wobbling like he was drunk! He was so out of it he couldn't even walk! He slept on my lap the whole way home and when we brought him into the apartment he slept on the couch the rest of the night, we put him in his cage and he slept till this morning. He was so helpless..... :(  But, just like his old self, he was up at 5:30am.....still a little tired I think. He's really not suppose to be touching the area, which he CAN reach, but I couldn't really stay home today....Someone's gotta pay for this doctor bill!! But I am leaving a little early so he's not home alone ALL day. *sigh* What a night. Needless to say, Nate and I didn't go out to eat like we had planned.....although it would have been cheaper!!

Mom's coming tonight for a weekend of WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING!!!!!!! Still up in the air if either Maris or Chaela will be joining her. I hope we (I) find something so we can be done with it. I can't believe we already been engaged 3 months......but then again I can't believe we've been together almost 8 years!! YIKES!!!

Oh, I do want to send a shout out to my 2 loyal followers: Alli and my Mom!!! Hey girls!! :) Oh and Grandma....because I know you're reading this too!! ;)

Alarm clocks

Oh I'm super excited! Going wedding dress shopping with Alli and Courtney tonight in Indy!  Since mom's coming next weekend, I thought I'd scope things out first. These girls rock my world and I'm so excited they're coming to help! Plus it's hard to find a time when all 3 of us are free to do ANYTHING let alone wedding dress shop! And Courtney's birthday was this past Monday, so we're doing b-day dinner after too!

So the newest, coolest thing about my apartment: Tennis courts! Not that I've played yet, or really ever, even though Nate bought me a racket last summer. No, more excited about the fact that it's totally enclosed which means: Quincey can run FREE!!!! However, I don't think he really understands this because both times I've walked him over there, he's been more content to smell around for a minute or 2 and then try to run for the door/gate. I even took his favorite toy (the pink volleyball, go figure!) with us yesterday and he wanted nothing to do with any of it. Guess we'll keep trying.

Bought a TV for the apartment. I have one from college that my dad got me, however, it is VERY HEAVY and big and I didn't think I could move it by myself this past weekend when I was going to get it from Maris's....so I'm saving it for a later time. Instead, a 32' flat screen is doing the trick! Don't have cable nor do I intend on getting it, but Alli's bringing that box you need these days so at least I can get 4 or so channels.

Looking foward to the weekend!! NO PLANS AT ALL.....unless you count sleeping in, because I do plan on doing that! Nate and Shane talked about going to the Ohio State vs. Illini football at Illinois on Saturday, but honestly I don't think those 2 should be allowed at a football game with no tickets ever again. (Don't know that story either? You will!) Thinking about just enjoying the weather on my balcony with the puppy.

Had some free time last night before Nate got done with practice, so I had a little photo shoot with the puppy. Hadn't got the camera out since Jake and Katie's Wedding, and after the way those pictures turned out (bleck) I thought I needed a little make up session. So I used the only moving thing around, Mr. Q Man. Took him out on the balcony when the sun was setting, but he didn't seem to understand what I wanted him to do. We'll see how those turn out. (In case you didn't know, Jake and Dru got me a 35mm camera for myhigh school graduation....that means I still use FILM from time to time!) So, when I finally got fed up with him not posing in cute puppy ways, I headed to Nate's and shot some there of the only other thing I would really want pictures of: My ring!

Made some dinner for the tracklete last night (see what I did there, added Track and Athlete together.) and watched a little Pawn Stars, while thinking about a new job. (And the fact that everyone that takes something into  the that pawn shop wants to SELL.....how do they really make any money?!)  Just a little bored with the current job. Actually, the photo shoot I had last night was because I was thinking about how to make a little extra $$ (you know, if I wanted/needed to get a new car some time in the near future). I'm not crafty, I don't have gym access for volleyball, taking surveys online is a SCAM, and the only thing I do LIKE doing is taking pictures. But realized no one wants to pay for film, processing and me when they can pay people with digital cameras who can guarantee something good. So, I'll just keep doing it for me. Although at this rate, my apartment is going to be filled with my only 2 subjects: My ring and Quincey!

Oh yeah, bought a baby gate for the dog. So he stays in the kitchen now. He left his mark on my brand new bed skirt. And the stupid thing is dry clean only! Enough is enough!

Sore old tired bones!

Back from another great weekend at home!! Took off early on Friday to make it home for Chaela's volleyball game AND THEN.....the Alumni game! I survived!! It was a lot of fun to see some old friends and play around with everyone. Then more volleyball Saturday.....Chaela that is! Went to Litchfield with mom, Chaela, and Maris to check out some wedding dresses. Still haven't found one. (Will I ever?!) Then enjoyed an evening of cheese & crackers, wine, and conversation with Grandma! And thanks to that wonderful woman, I now have 6 wine glasses. Bring on the company! Finished the day with dinner with Grandma and Dad. (Thanks for the Skin-so-soft!)
Trying to plan the next few weekends. My cousin, Tyler, is coming home for 2 weeks from over seas so that'll probably be the next time I'm home. But, trying to cut the trips down a bit....poor little car isn't sounding the best, but it's surviving!
Where did this weather come from?! I got smart and wore some socks to work today. Still have a jacket on, but I think my feet not being so cold is helping today.
Second episode of "The Event" tonight.....Nate said this will either MAKE or BREAK whether or not we watch it anymore. I say, what else is there to do?!?

So, I know this post is a little boring........so here's something fun: WEDDING WEBSITE!!!!!!!!!
Nate finally finished his part so I can pass it on to the world.....well, really just the most important people in my life! ;)  (We'll be adding to it as the wedding gets closer.) ENJOY!!!!!!

Happy Fall!

So did anyone else watch the premiere of "The Event" last night on NBC? Nate and I did...mainly because we were hoping for something to fill our "Lost" void, but....we're still hoping. Still trying to decided if we're going to tune in next week.

Had a pretty good weekend in Indy. (The first one in a while) FINALLY stayed at my apartment and let me tell you...the wait for that bed was (and still is) totally worth it! How did I ever sleep in a twin for so many years?! I swear I sleep covering as much room as humanly possible just because I can! Quincey is LOVING it too. Every time I come back he's always running out of my room! And yesterday I found his warm body spot on a pair of jeans I threw on the bed. BUSTED! So, I closed the door today. Sorry Q....you're a dog!

If some of you didn't know, football season is upon us. Spent Saturday at Buffalo Wild Wings with Nate and Shane & Jacqueline. J and I decided to walk over to Deals at half time but it didn't kill nearly enough time....I mean.... ;) Then we decided to spend the evening over at their house letting all 4 dogs play together while we enjoyed some Papa Murphy's (yes, they have them in Indy too!) and some good old fashioned Scattegories. Welp, let's just say I spend Sunday sleeping....totally missed Nate's 2010 Flag Football debut. All in all, a much needed relaxing weekend.

Still getting things put away at the apartment. Looking for some dinning room chairs and a coffee table. (Keep your eyes peeled!) But things are coming together, even if I still don't have ANY FOOD in the place. Hopefully making that ever important Wal-mart run tonight. Jake & Katie: I promise to have some before you guys visit!!! Got a work-out in yesterday. Chaela text me asking if I was "getting in shape for the alumni game". The answer is.....we'll see! ;)

Wedding Update: Ummm....not much to talk about here. I was looking at some sites today for ideas on decor and decided I think I'll put if off another week. ha!

Hope everyone is enjoying the first day of fall! My body is totally confused: I SEE that it's the first day of fall....but I sit at my desk and it FEELS like it's the dead of winter....and when I walk outside later, I know it'll FEEL like the dead of summer. Hey Eli Lilly, wanna save some $$?? Turn the freaking air up!!!!! I'm catching pneumonia!!!!

The Man From New Jersey

What will YOU be doing next year on this day?? I WILL BE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!! I KNOW everyone says it goes by so fast, and I know it does because I've been through many relationships/proposals/planning/weddings in my course of waiting, but right now in this moment a year feels like.....7 and 1/2!!!!! ;) Just glad to have the most important bookings out of the way. More time to focus on the fun little stuff that Nate cares nothing about! Maybe he'll care when I put that picture of him in the tu-tu smack dab on the front of our invites!! (Don't know that story?? Trust me, you will!)

More moving last night. I actually started to put some stuff away this time! And then I did what no one should EVER do when you're moving: I started looking at pictures! Oops! Found some plates I forgot I bought a couple years ago. Really looking forward to the weekend so I can just get everything put away and settled.....oh and scrub the kitchen and bathroom before they start to get used! The thought of that kind of grosses me out! But the apartment does have BRAND NEW CARPET so I don't have to worry about anyone's dirty athlete's foot. And bring on the bed!!!!

Lemons

Realized you guys might want some wedding updates so here they are:

* We are 1 year and 1 day away from the Big Day and have most of the "big stuff" out of the way! I don't know what people are taking about...this wedding planning stuff is easy! (Thanks mom!) We've got our church, reception site, caterer, photographer and videographer! I've decided not to share EVERYTHING because I still want everyone to have that feel of surprise when we pull this shin-dig off! Oh, and we are working on a Wedding Website....stay tuned!

* Dress shopping: Might be the hardest, most stressful part to come! Have been twice now....stay tuned on that too!

* Nate and I are so excited about our photographers!!! We met with them (Nate's mom came too!) on Saturday when we were home and love love love them! They're just young and hip and......cool!! We walked away from that smiling. And we met with our videographer here in Indy on Tuesday. We love what he does too, so all in all.....we can't wait to have some AWESOME memories to keep for a lifetime!

Ok....that's all you guys get for now!

"Wedding Workout" again last night with J. Decided to do a little bench press only to find out we are both weaker than we thought and had some difficulty just lifting the bar. I swear it wasn't as heavy in college. We both had to giggle when we saw these big guys were all around us.....grunting and sweating up a storm......and  there we were having a hard time with the bar?!? (Their forks probably weigh as much as the bar!) But we sure didn't see any other girls in the free weight section, so kudos to us!

Took some more stuff over to the apartment last night. My friend Alli (teammate from college and my "red dress" wedding friend as some of you might better know her) was in the area so she stopped by on her way home to check it out. It was good to see her cute little married self....live in the same city and still can't find enough time to hang out. (or with Courtney!) Got some much needed kitchen utensils from her. It's like you get married and then you can't find a use for your old stuff so you pass it along to....well me! I am warning you guys: I only have 2 wine glasses so don't everyone come visit at once! Probably take most of the rest of my stuff over tonight and try to get settled before the KING MATTRESS comes tomorrow night! I can't even imagine what a King by myself is going to feel like....but I won't dwell on it!

Quincey wanted me to send you all his love. And NO, this is not going to turn into a dog-blog, Jake! Love and miss you all!! :)

Quincey

Here's what everyone was waiting for!!!!

I'm a blogger!!

Well, I thought I'd start a blog. Why you ask? It's hard to keep in contact with all my family and friends being 3 hours away from home now and with wedding plans swirling around us I wanted a way to keep everyone updated. (Plus, I know EVERYONE wants to know how Quincey's doing from time to time!) Oh, and I have a good amount of free time at work so hopefully this will be something to make my days go faster!

So, most of you know I moved into MY first apartment this past weekend!! Doesn't quite feel real because I haven't stayed there yet. Last week Nate and I went and picked out a KING mattress! We're going to need one next year anyway so why not let me break it in for 365 days! But that won't be delivered till Friday so I'm just moving stuff in and getting things organized. Dru was nice enough to give me his old (HEAVY) couch so we moved that in this weekend. Blythe & Nate: 1 - Couch: 0. Why did I pick the 2nd floor?!? Oh yeah....vaulted ceilings AND a fireplace!! No, I didn't need either...but I got them....for free! Once I figure out how to post pictures I'll put some up of the new place.(Fine....and Quincey!) :)

Stared "Wedding Workout" last week!! (for the 2nd time) Jacqueline and Shane got a membership to LA Fitness and can take 2 guests every time they go, so J and I tried out the free classes a couple weeks ago. We decided doing our own stuff would better suit our schedules, though. Since Nate has track practice on Monday's and Wednesday's we decided those would be the perfect days to get our own workouts in. Today will make workout 3 with J....and 3 days in a row of active activity!! (ran with Nate at the track last night too!) We'll see how long I can keep it up! Although, there's a 5k coming up October 16th that I was trying to talk Kate W. into doing with me, but I think her and Jake are just going to come up to visit that weekend instead. What they don't know is that Nate's MAKING me do the race, so I'm actually training for that I suppose! 4 more weeks! (I'd appreciate signs guys!) ;)

Well, I think that's about everything for now. Will be home next weekend (24-25-26) for Chaela's JV game Friday night AND THEN the alumni volleyball game at Lu Hi!!! Don't think I'll be able to touch a volleyball before that so this might be ugly!! Until next time......... :)
